The Lawyers CPD Club is a
collective of Irish solicitors and barristers committed to achieving a
collaborative forum for professional learning and development.
The purpose of the Lawyers CPD
Club is to provide regular lectures and training, on the most relevant topics
affecting the profession, towards assisting colleagues in fulfilling their CPD requirements.
CPD, or Continuing Professional Development, can be described as the maintenance and enhancement of a lawyer’s professional knowledge, skills, attitudes and ethics, throughout a lawyer’s career. A commitment to continuous learning improves and broadens the legal knowledge and skills of a lawyer, while contributing to the development of personal qualities necessary for the performance of professional duties throughout their working life.
Although the professional CPD requirements of solicitors and barristers may vary, there exists on members of both professions, a responsibility to complete a minimum number of CPD hours or points per year, to comply with their professional obligations.
The Lawyers CPD Club brings together solicitors and barristers to provide regular lectures on the most relevant topics affecting the profession. Those who attend are issued a Certificate of Attendance that can then be used towards CPD self-certification.
As a collaborative forum, there are no fees for attending these lectures.
The Lawyer CPD Club aims to meet on the last Friday morning of every month, but please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm.
